I received a response from the CFPB. They still haven’t offered to send my money back. The money I had in there for years. They also said they could not send the wire because my account was restrained, but that is not really being honest. My account and indentity was verified and deposited funds verified and my account was unrestrained when the wire was fully approved to go out to Kraken. They did say the depositor of the $55,000 check can recall the funds through her bank, but nothing about my funds.
I also got responses from the Ohio Attorney General, & the OCC. The OCC said no jurisdiction over the matter, so I responded to them by mail that YES, the E*TRADE CHECKING should be under their jurisdiction. The attorney general told me to contact the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Financial Institutions, so I sent an information packet there as well.
You can see E*TRADE is offering to refund the $55,000 check to the writer, that is good, but nothing about my own funds in my brokerage and checking. They are implying they don’t intend to refund my own money. Most of the money I had in there came from my pay as a computer programmer before I even got into bitcoin. This is really sad a depository institution can just keep your money without any transparency or due process. This is why bitcoin and crypto are important. Its the only way besides cash to truly own your money. Money in the bank is confiscatable and these banks are confiscating money of those who are in crypto and sometimes those who are conservative too. This was the reason for President Trump’s executive order on de-banking.
So far, E*TRADE isn’t offering to return my own money to me. When I ask them about my own money, they don’t respond or are evasive. I was literally told that I could recall my own funds from E*TRADE which makes no sense. They have only offered to return $55,000 to the check writer.
I left a review on Trust Pilot today. E*TRADE already had a 1/5 rating.

I can’t believe we allow Banks and Brokerages to operate like this. They have the worst possible rating and seem not to even care.
